Rock Coastal Therapy brings occupational therapy, speech therapy and feeding therapy to the places your child already spends their day. Here is how we work and why.
Every plan starts with a conversation about what matters to your child and your family. We set goals together, build on what your child already does well, and focus on the skills that make daily life easier and more enjoyable for them.
This is what neurodiversity-affirming care means to us. Differences in how children move, play, communicate and experience the world are a natural part of human variation. Our job is to help your child take part in the life they want, in a way that feels right to them.
Skills stick when they are practiced where they are used.
Seeing your child’s real routines shows us what is getting in the way. We adjust the plan on the spot, and you see each strategy in action so you can use it the next day.
We come to your home, daycare, preschool or local park in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts communities. You skip the drive and the waiting room, and siblings can stay in their own routine.
As a concierge practice, we schedule sessions around naps, school and work, and as your child’s needs change, therapy can follow them from the living room to the classroom to the playground.
Every Rock Coastal clinician brings advanced training in a specialty area, from feeding to sensory regulation to language. We keep caseloads small so each therapist has time to plan for your child, stay in touch with you between visits and keep building their expertise.
We match your child with the specialist whose training fits their needs. That same therapist stays with your family from the first evaluation onward, so they know your child well and you never have to start over with someone new.

Interactive Metronome (IM) is a research-supported tool we use within occupational therapy sessions when it fits a child’s goals.
We bring the IM equipment with us, so your child can use it at home, at daycare or wherever sessions happen. Your child claps, taps or steps in time to a steady beat. A computer measures their timing to the millisecond and gives instant feedback through sound and visuals, so your child can hear and see each adjustment as they make it.
Timing is part of nearly everything children do: following directions, holding attention, coordinating both hands and keeping pace in a conversation. IM works on that timing directly.
IM can support:
